About Kerry Picks - Hey There, I'm Kerry!
The Story Behind Every Deal I Share
You know that moment when you find an amazing deal and immediately text your best friend? That’s basically what this site is – except you’re all my friends, and I’ve got way too many deals to fit in a text message.
How This Whole Thing Started
Picture this: It’s 2am. I’m nursing my youngest while scrolling through my phone with one hand (mom skills, right?). My husband’s snoring beside me, my 5-year-old just kicked off his blankets for the third time, and I’m adding items to five different shopping carts trying to compare prices.
Sound familiar?
That night, after finding a 60% off deal on those organic baby wipes everyone raves about, I thought – why am I not sharing this goldmine with other parents? We’re all in the same exhausted, budget-conscious boat here.
And honestly? My friends were already treating me like their personal deal-finder anyway. “Kerry, where’d you get those cute rain boots?” “Kerry, is that stroller really worth it?” “Kerry, PLEASE tell me you found a discount code for that insane shipping fee…”
So here we are. Kerry Picks – where I dump all my late-night shopping victories (and occasional disasters) for you to learn from.
What You’ll Actually Find Here
The Good Stuff
- Real reviews from someone who actually bought the thing (usually at 2am)
- Coupon codes that work – I test them myself because expired codes are THE WORST
- Honest opinions – if something sucks, I’ll tell you. My reputation as the neighborhood deal queen is on the line here
The Categories I Actually Shop
Look, I’d love to say I’m organized, but my shopping habits are as chaotic as my house on a Monday morning. One minute I’m buying car parts for my husband’s “project car” (don’t ask), next minute it’s organic baby food, then suddenly I’m deep-diving into Korean skincare at midnight.
That’s why you’ll find everything here:
- Kids stuff (because they grow out of everything in 0.2 seconds)
- Home and Garden (that Pinterest board isn’t going to complete itself)
- Travel deals (family vacations on a budget = my specialty)
- Beauty and Health (self-care in 5-minute increments)
- Tech and Software (usually whatever my husband convinces me we “need”)
- Food delivery (judge me on Tuesday at 6pm when both kids are screaming)
My Promise to You
Here’s the deal – and not the shopping kind:
I only recommend stuff I’d tell my sister about. Actually, my sister uses this site, so I literally AM telling her about it. Hi, Sarah!
Yes, I make a small commission when you buy through my links. That’s how I keep this site running and occasionally buy myself coffee that’s still hot when I drink it. But that never – and I mean NEVER – affects what I recommend.
Bad products with good commissions? Nope.
Great finds with tiny commissions? Absolutely yes.
Something that saved my sanity at 3am? DEFINITELY sharing that.
The Real Behind-the-Scenes
Where I’m writing from: Usually my kitchen counter, surrounded by permission slips I forgot to sign, half a lukewarm coffee, and at least one child asking for a snack
My superpower: Finding designer kids’ clothes at Target prices and remembering which stores have family bathrooms
My kryptonite: “Mom, I need 24 cupcakes for tomorrow’s bake sale” at 8pm
Current status: Probably comparing prices on something random while pretending to watch Bluey for the 847th time
Let’s Be Friends!
This isn’t just about deals – it’s about that moment of victory when you score something awesome for 70% off. It’s about not feeling guilty for buying yourself something nice because you saved enough to justify it. It’s about making our crazy, beautiful, chaotic lives a little bit easier.
Got a deal to share? Found a coupon code I missed? Want to commiserate about stepping on Legos at 3am?
Drop me a line at hello@kerrypicks.com or find me comparing prices in the Target parking lot (you know, for the WiFi).
P.S. – If you see a review posted at 3:47am, yes, I was probably up with a kid. If it’s particularly enthusiastic about a coffee maker or blackout curtains, you’ll know why.
P.P.S. – My husband wants everyone to know he contributed by “watching the kids” while I built this site. He watched them play video games. Together. It counts.
Happy shopping (and saving!),
Kerry
